Recent Wareham vacation rental reviews

Really enjoyed the stay. The beds are very comfortable, and the mini-splits kept the rooms warm with outside temps below freezing. The garbage disposal was inoperable, which would have been good to know so we didn't have to scoop our food scraps back out of it, but for us this was a minor issue as we spent little time in the house, and the Vacasa rep was pretty responsive when we brought this up. The house is a 2 min slow walk to Swift's Beach, and in Nov the neighborhood was nice and quiet.

Where is Wareham, MA?

Founded in 1739 in the southern reaches of Plymouth County, Wareham is strategically positioned at the head of Buzzards Bay - the point at which Massachusetts becomes the upper arm of Cape Cod. This town of nearly 22,000 residents is just 55 miles south of Boston, 17 miles south of Plymouth, and 25 miles north of Falmouth.

Things to Do in Wareham, MA

A colonial town with structures that date back to the late 17th century, Wareham has seen its turn as an iron manufacturer, a shipbuilder, a whaling and fishing center, and a salt producer. In the early 1900s, the local economy transformed to focus on the growth of summer tourism and the cultivation of cranberries, the leading commodity crop in Massachusetts.

With more than 30 percent of the town's 29,940 acres dedicated to cranberry growing, guests at our Wareham vacation rentals can experience these picturesque bogs for themselves at the A.D. Makepeace Company. This world-famous cranberry grower offers tours, events, and a selection of gourmet foods and gifts in all seasons, from the fall wet harvest to the blossom-filled spring.

Planning to get out on the water? In addition to several dockside dining options, Wareham is home to eight public beaches and five public boat ramps. The 280-acre White Island Pond is also a serene summer haven for swimming, kayaking, sailing, and canoeing. In search of local wildlife? You'll find 219 acres of pine forests, carriage road trails, and species that range from herons to great horned owls at the Great Neck Wildlife Sanctuary.

And don't forget that Spillane Field is the home of the Wareham Gatemen, the local franchise of the famed Cape Cod Baseball League!
