We had made plans to sleep here and spend the days in Coeur d'alene but we just stayed here the whole time instead. The Perfect Place is so Perfect! It was just my husband and I and we slept in the bed in the living room instead of the upstairs master because the view was so amazing from the living room. We saw bald eagles fishing from the front windows. The bay water was still and when there were boat wakes the house boat didn't move. It was not drafty at all, it keeps the heat in really well. Perfect place to spend winter days. There is a small Mercantile store, 2 bars and a coffee shop all within the same block. They have wifi and provide a big tv with netflix. Full kitchen, keurig, full washer and dryer. All you have to do is bring yourselves. You can be on the Ferragut state park trails in a mile of walking, just around the navy base, or just walk the small roads around the bay. This is more of a full size house that just happens to be on the water. Be careful getting the key out of the lockbox, make sure it doesn't drop in the water (good thing my husband had quick reflexes). And definitely come in the daylight, the dock and outside door is very dark unless the outside light is on. (It was dark at 4:30pm!) The houseboat is not marked so pay attention to your directions. You will love this place.

Beautifully updated cabin in Bayview. Had everything I needed to cook meals including a BBQ. I didn't get time to build a fire during my stay but the owners provide detailed instructions how to make a great fire. Met the owner and his dog. Very nice and helpful. Loved my stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Tiny Cabin. The view out to the lake was beautiful and for a 1950's cabin, it has been nicely renovated. The area was quiet with lots of wildlife to see.

Things to Do Around Bayview

Take a day trip to Farragut State Park, one of Idaho's most expansive parks. Explore hiking trails, view native wildlife, hit the beach, or play a few rounds on the two disc golf courses. Tour the Farragut Naval Training Station for a glimpse into Idaho's proud military history.

In the winter, skiing at Schweitzer Mountain Resort is just an hour north. Bayview itself is quite small and charming, with a handful of laid-back cafes and a general store. Of course, just 40 minutes south await the shopping, dining, golf courses, and spas of beautiful Coeur d'Alene.

If you feel like the charm of a smaller town, Sandpoint is only half an hour north or Post Falls 40 minutes southwest; even closer to home is the Hayden Lake area, offering an assortment of local eateries and shops 25 minutes away.

If you'd like to stay in a Coeur d'Alene area vacation rental, you might not find a more relaxing and laid-back destination than lovely little Bayview, Idaho!
