This house offered the perfect space for enjoying our week at Black Butte. We especially loved the deck out front with lots of Adirondack chairs. Great for tea in the mornings and dinner at night. We also appreciated the large lot with space for us to hang our 3 hammocks. The cul-de-sac was pretty quiet, and it seemed like only about half the homes were occupied. It was also a treat to be able to walk to Paulina Springs and the pool there!

The remodel and addition to this house were very well thought out, and the materials used for doors, trim, and cabinets are gorgeous and match throughout the house! Cherry floors in the main room are so nice too! Owners are brave to rent this house out.

The home was very clean and well-stocked. My advice to future renters would be to bring your own ping pong balls, napkins, plastic wrap, and containers for leftover food.

Thank you so much for the use of your Black Butte home!

Hot tub is public, you have to drive to it, and kids under 7 not welcome. No kids in pool either until 10 am. No saran wrap or leftover containers in kitchen; otherwise well stocked. 1-ply TP is unwelcome. $9 per day use fee for everyone over 7 is a ripoff by Black Butte. Fireplace was great, beds comfy

The weather was beautiful for our Christmas family gathering. Some of the things that bothered me. The house was in need of a deep clean, cobwebs and dust everywhere. Bathrooms were clean, bedding was clean. The garage was a mess. I thought we could use it for room to spread out but no. The kitchen was well equipped but the stove top did not work properly. Only 1 snow shovel and with a family habit of shoveling the driveway that was a problem. I picked up the cushions on the couch and there was dirt and hair and popcorn-gross. Nice property, just needs some TLC
Manager response:
Hi, Michele! We do have deep cleans coming up and apologize you were dissatisfied with the cleanliness for your stay. We will ask maintenance to check the stove. Thank you!

The cozy wood burning fireplace, and excellent location within Black Butte.

Unfortunately, I rented this house without reading the fine print about “No Central Air,” buried in the house profile. I assumed all houses in A DESERT would have AC. It didn’t even occur to me to look.

Let me tell you, August in Black Butte is HOT. It is AT LEAST 90 degrees outside if not hotter every day. It does cool down at night (to about 65), but there is only so much you can do with fans to cool down the house, close the curtains back up and hope you will not fry. Guess what…you will bake. There are several large windows that get direct sun in the afternoon that have no shades. There are box fans in every room, but hot air is hot air whether you are moving it with a fan or not.

The house itself is nice, but my family and I look forward to our annual summer Black Butte trip every year and the heat made this house unbearable. Make sure to filter on houses that have AC if you are coming in the summer.
Manager response:
Kelsey, thank you so much for sharing this thoughtful feedback on your stay with us. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our beautiful space, despite the summer heat! We appreciate our guests' feedback as a means to improve and are happy to report that the owners have since installed a central AC system in the home to promote guest comfort. Thank you for identifying this area in need of attention, we hope to host you for a truly carefree and enjoyable getaway in the future!

The fireplace is featured prominently in the pictures. However unless you bring your own firewood and kindling it is just a nice picture. The house layout is very cozy and extra bicycles in the garage was a large plus for our family. Kitchen is well stocked but for sleeping 10 there are only six chairs.

The house, the Black Butte ranch, and the Central Oregon area were excellent. I would definitely recommend staying in this clean and spacious home for any time you plan on spending in this area. Thank you!

This home was perfect for multiple families with kids, we loved our stay! Could benefit from a few more lamps, it did get pretty dark. Everything was comfortable and well stocked. We appreciated the variety of bike sizes in the garage too!
Sheryl A. Aug 2019
The grandkids loved the bike trails & swimming pools. We had a great time.
Lori E. May 2019
Beautiful home in Black Butte Ranch. Weather was great and home was very accommodating however pools were closed yet we had to pay the daily fee anyway. We were there for a Lacrosse tournament so really didn’t get to use the other amenities.
Anjana G. Jan 2019
Very warm and inviting
Deborah S. Oct 2018
lots of beds and bathrooms made it comfortable for everyone to gather and also have their own space

The house looked great on the surface and was clean, but overall did not meet our expectations. Our biggest complaint is the fireplace. We burned a fire—with the flue open— and the whole place smelled of smoke. ALL of our belongings now smell VERY strongly of smoke too. The upstairs space was nearly unbearable to be in due to the smoky air. Also, the kitchen was not up-to-par. It was missing essentials like zip-loc bags and plastic wrap to store leftover food. The cookware had seen better days. The cooktop was cracked and one burner didn't work. I do not feel I got what I paid for.
Manager response:
The cooktop has been replaced, and the chimney is scheduled for a cleaning this fall. We apologize for any disappointments this guest experienced.

The layout of the home was perfect for 6 professional women to stay while attending a work retreat. The 3 bathrooms was a plus!
Colin C. Apr 2018
Had a golf trip, great home, would stay here again.
Brad D. Mar 2018
It was clean, tastefully decorated, and easily accommodated our group! This is definitely a home we would like to visit again.
Jo M. Nov 2017
Very comfortable place to stay. Nice open downstairs floor plan. Plenty of space in bedrooms, which were kept clean (as were the bathrooms). Amenities at Black Butte are great.
Craig P. Oct 2017
Spring Home 6 was a great house. While the photos make it appear much larger than reality, it still had a great layout and worked very well for our extended family.
Hailee R. Sep 2017
The cabin was a great place for our family! We came to town for a wedding and had a wonderful time, both in the house and out! We only wish we could have stayed longer!
Annette D. Jul 2017
Would rent again. Lovely home. Well situated and well appointed. Used it in summer but anxious to try a winter stay also.
Erin L. May 2017
If you are staying her as a family this is a great house layout. Very nice remodel. My favorite part about this house is the porch in the chairs.
Scott W. May 2017
My friends and I had a good time staying in this home, it is cozy and well taken care of. The area in beautiful and we would stay there again.
Catherine K. Apr 2017
We had a relaxing stay at this BBR cabin. We loved riding bikes & walking to Paulina Springs & then over to the Bistro for coffee, snack or lunch. Grandkids love the pool. It was nice to experience Central Oregon sun after our rainy winter
Todd M. Mar 2017
Very pleasant home, clean and worked four our group of 10. Kitchen and living room a bit snug for a larger group, but it worked out just fine.
Tom P. Jan 2017
Perfect for our five night stay.
Erin R. Nov 2016
House layout is ideal for multiple families with kids. Be prepared to drive into Sisters (10 miles) for groceries, meals, etc. Great home base to explore MacKenzie Pass, Proxy Falls, Smith Rock, in addition to Bend and environs. The Dee Wright Observatory was the highlight of our trip - kids are still talking about the castle.
Mark W. Sep 2016
Be VERY careful when backing out of the driveway
A stump on one side and a utility box on the other make for difficult navigation
Kevin S. Jun 2016
This house was wonderful, nice open living/kitchen area for gatherings, bedrooms were nicely sized, quality finishes and just great experience overall. 10/10.
Curry F. May 2016
Love the house. Just needs to be cleaned better.
Ryan L. Feb 2016
First I would like to say Black Butte Spring Home 6 is a great home. We have stayed at the ranch multiple times per year for the last 22 years. The main living space was perfect for us, however, would be tight if the houses maximum was reached. The Silver family is also doing a lovely job on the updating of this home. The house is centrally located to most all amenities on the Ranch.

VACASA and the property management failed this home. It took me over 14 phone calls, 1 message and 1 email (never replied to) and most of a day to finally get hold of someone at VACASA. I called every phone number I could find. This is a huge business failure on their part. The home was also not cleaned to any standards. The main living space had puzzle pieces, gummy bears, and an empty water bottle on the carpet. I understand a home cannot be deep cleaned in the short hours between renters, however, I do expect it to be hotel clean. Everyone pays a cleaning fee and we felt like we were just giving away money since we also had to clean the place ourselves at the beginning of our trip.

Firewood was provided...just don't expect it to last. The 11 pieces of wood for 7 nights with no kindling just doesn't cut it. We have not stayed at any home on the Ranch that didn't have wood provided. The company, welcome notices and listing all had wood provided as an amenity. They also need to provide more personal cleaning supplies (dish washer etc).

All in all we love Black Butte and had a great trip. I just hope VACASA and the management team understand they are going cheap on cleaning supplies and service.
Manager response:
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are very sorry to see that housekeeping was not up to par and will follow-up with the cleaning crew. We also want to apologize about being so difficult to reach lately; we are actively hiring more personnel to assist with phone calls and emails so that we can more efficiently respond to guests. We hope to have another chance to impress you!

This house was very spacious and comfortable. We really enjoyed the ping pong table.
Luis G. Sep 2014
This was our first time at BBR and we absolutely loved it. The home was the cherry on top. It is such a beautiful home, surrounded by natural beauty. We had plenty of space for everyone and our family left with new wonderful memories.
Joy A. Sep 2014
Every year the 6 sisters plan a weekend trip usually to the coast. We decided this year to stay more local and went to BBR. The house we selected was awesome and we our yearly trek will now include BBR and Spring Home 6. Very comfy and well stocked. We didn't even go out to dinner one night as we had planned, it was just too perfect of a spot to leave.
Anne O. Feb 2014
We were very pleased with this home. The large dining room table was great for family meals and many hours of board games. The living room with the huge fireplace, was cozy and the TV was great for watching the Olympics. Several family members enjoyed playing ping pong in the garage. Bedrooms all had nice beds and bedding and were quiet. We hope to rent this home again next year!
Karla V. Dec 2013
This home is one of the best I have stayed in. It accommodated us well and the kitchen was stocked with equipment like no other I have stayed in ….about everything one would need including lots of pans, bowls , utensils etc. The rest of the amenities were plentiful including puzzles, games, books, ping pong table, linens, towels . The only problems which were minor was that several bulbs were out, no audio cable for the DVD making it unusable and the firewood was green so it was hard to keep a fire going but we managed to eventually! It is a great property and we love Black Butte….my first time there.
Manager response:
Thank you so much for the great review and helpful feedback! We are getting those light bulbs replaced and are working with to find or purchase a new audio cable for the DVD so it's usable. I'm happy to see that you appreciated all of the other great amenities that this home has to offer during your stay.
Sarah E. Sep 2013
Great place for a large group and great location....would stay here again!
Vicki M. Sep 2013
Nice home near a quiet pool and tennis court. Enjoyed the newness of the home...many nice upgrades.
