Custom-built nature lover's retreat with large porch, AC, & partial Gulf view

Living the Dream is a custom built, spacious, three-bedroom/three-bath beach home including new furniture and interior decor. Located in the heart of Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge on the Fort Morgan Peninsula, it is only a short drive to all the attractions, shopping, events, and restaurants in Gulf Shores, making it a perfect vacation getaway or snowbird paradise. This home is located in a quiet beach community where many owners are permanent residents, and it is four miles from the nearest high-rise condo.

This beautiful home features a large, walk-in shower in the primary bathroom and tub/shower combinations for each guest bedroom. There is a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer and the large kitchen has all the cookware, utensils, and dishes needed for home cooking. If you prefer there are several restaurants nearby. The large covered front porch has a gulf view, and the rear deck has a view of the wildlife refuge. Outdoor living abounds here, with al fresco dining options including a patio table and seating and a fully-equipped grill/prep station with a hot/cold water sink. An outdoor, hot/cold shower and foot-wash is available for your return from the beach. For indoor entertainment, television service is provided by Dish Network satellite television and complementary wireless internet service is provided. There is an entertainment center with a flat screen TV, AM/FM/CD stereo system, and DVD player in the living room and each bedroom has a flat screen TV and DVD player.

Historic Fort Morgan is six miles to the West on Highway 180. Here you can catch the Mobile Bay Ferry to Dauphin Island. There are two premier golf courses nearby at Kiva Dunes and the Peninsula and there are several outlets for rental of water sports equipment nearby.

The nearby wildlife refuge is a 7,000-acre nature preserve that offers several easy trails through saw grass, marsh, and slash pine forest where you can encounter 500 different animals and bird species. The Fort Morgan Peninsula is in the bird and butterfly migration route. In early spring and late fall, the whole peninsula is alive with birds and butterflies including Monarchs and Gulf Fritillaries. In addition to the usual gulls and sand pipers, you may find kestrel, anhinga, osprey, great blue heron, and several different species of hawks, including sharp-shinned and Cooper's. Bring your camera because you don't want to miss that photo of an American Alligator.
