When you want to get in or on the water, the lake and your own private beach with multiple kayaks and canoes are just a few short steps from your porch. A hidden gem for swimmers and fishing enthusiasts, Mirror Lake in Woodstock is one of the cleanest and most picturesque bodies of water in New Hampshire (motorboats of any kind are completely prohibited). From your secluded backyard enter into the woods to discover a little-traversed walking trail through the protected forest wrapping around the lakeshore. A short walk up the road leads to a trail up alongside Hubbard Brook, a magnificent water stream with beautiful New England scenery. Or, for an even longer hike alternative, walk up the path for miles into the hills.
