From outdoor adventures in a picturesque location to the conveniences of a bustling city, our selection of Boise vacation homes have everything that you need for a memorable getaway.
Downtown Boise
Considered the historic heart of Idaho's capital city, downtown Boise offers a multitude of local restaurants, shops, and entertainment options. From the Linen District to BoDo (a development whose name is short for "Boise Downtown"), there's something for everyone!
While the Treasure Valley has grown exponentially in the past few years, downtown Boise has maintained its small town feeling and welcoming attitude. With an emphasis on buying and supporting local businesses, you'll find that many big name department stores and chain restaurants are noticeably absent from this part of town.
From April to December, you'll find a weekly farmer's market every Saturday that features produce, local artists, and much more! Looking to bring home a souvenir or two from your stay in our downtown Boise vacation rentals? You'll find everything from high-end boutique stores to thrift shops, all conveniently located in this pedestrian and bike-friendly part of town.
If you're feeling hungry after exploring the area, you're in luck! From craft cocktails at Juniper to smoked brisket at St. Lawrence's Gridiron to handmade pastas at Alavita, there are a variety of delicious dining options downtown that promise to delight guests of all ages and interests. Boise has recently become known for its craft beers and you'll find a number of breweries downtown, as well as both wineries and breweries in nearby Garden City.
Although Boise is very family-friendly, adults can have a bit of fun too, thanks to its thriving nightlife! The blocks around the intersection of 6th & Main house a number of bars and clubs, ranging from the country music-playing Dirty Little Roddy's to China Blue's more traditional night club.
Things to do in Boise
Don't let Boise's relatively small size fool you - you'll find plenty of ways to spend your days and the hardest thing you'll have to do during your stay is trying to pick what to do first!
Boise offers a variety of cultural experiences, including an outdoor exhibit of graffiti art known as Freak Alley and a block of restaurants, shops, and even a museum dedicated to the history and culture of the Basque community. Make sure to stop by Bar Gernika, named after Boise's sister city in Spain, for a cultural experience and some delicious traditional cuisine. If you're ever in the Basque Country, rumor has it that you'll discover a Bar Boise!
The Boise Art Museum has contemporary artwork, exhibitions, and even an outdoor sculpture garden. Kids (and those who are kids at heart!) will enjoy visiting Zoo Boise and the Discovery Museum. Julia Davis Park is home to the Idaho State Historical Museum and an exquisite rose garden that is breathtakingly beautiful. Each September, this park hosts the annual Art in Park festival that brings over 250 artists from all over the Pacific Northwest.
Boise's historic North End neighborhood promises a quieter experience only a few miles from the heart of downtown. Hyde Park is a small strip of stores and restaurants that embodies the feeling of a small town's Main Street. Stop by Parrilla Grill for some chancho street tacos or cool off on a warm day with some ice cream or old-fashioned candy from Goody's Soda Fountain.
Adjacent to Boise, you'll find the city of Meridian. Meridian has grown in size and popularity in recent years, thanks the construction of The Village. You'll find everything from big name stores to upscale restaurants to a captivating fountain (featuring choreographed water shows) to a luxury movie theater in this development! Nearby to both Boise and Meridian, you'll find the neighboring city of Eagle and its picturesque storefronts, golf courses, and Eagle Island State Park.
Boise's outdoor attractions
The Treasure Valley is known for its mild temperatures year-round so, regardless of when you choose to visit, outdoor enthusiasts can take advantage of the nearby natural attractions! From hiking to biking, snowboarding to skiing, fishing to boating, you won't have to stray too far from Boise. The Boise River Greenbelt is a paved, 25-mile trail that winds throughout the city and provides scenic views, wildlife habitats, and pedestrian access to many of the city's popular parks. Less than 1.5 miles from downtown, Camel's Back Park is a favorite for BBQs, volleyball, and tennis. If you're feeling more adventurous, venture further into the extensive 130 miles of dirt trails that make up the "Ridge to River" trail system that snakes throughout the foothills and offers unbelievable views!
During the summer, you'll find many locals floating the Boise River! Rent a raft, bring your friends, and stay cool on a summer's day as you float along the approximately six miles of gentle water. In the winter months, head up to Bogus Basin for a day full of skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, or sledding.
